Maintaining superior health quality and biosecurity standards has always been one key priority throughout Hubbard’s history.
Our operations are under permanent veterinary supervision and subjected to intensive health monitoring schedules that go far beyond the local health regulations regardless of their location.
These are managed globally by Hubbard’s Veterinary and Quality departments to ensure a consistent health status across all Hubbard divisions worldwide.
Hubbard maintains day-to-day collaboration with international recognised research and diagnostic laboratories and veterinary services suppliers.
Hubbard also actively contributes to the evolution of the poultry health regulation and official health programs through cooperation with the veterinary authorities in those countries where Hubbard has its own facilities.
Within Hubbard’s global network, the Quality Department plays a key role in delivering premium quality eggs and chicks around the world. They work day-to-day in close collaboration with the veterinary departments.
With pedigree programs in the US and France, supported by our own Great Grandparent and Grandparent operations in Europe and the Americas, Hubbard’s production facilities are located close to key global markets. With the additional Grandparent distributors worldwide, customers can be assured they will receive top-quality genetic stock from the most suitable supply location available.
The Quality Department is responsible for the application of the biosecurity programs, control plans and continuous improvement implemented by all departments at global level.
In close collaboration with the Logistics Department, the Quality Department assesses and validates the action plans implemented with the airlines, handling companies and hubs used to transfer day-old-chicks or hatching eggs from one country to another.
All these actions have only one goal: to supply premium quality day-old-chicks and hatching eggs all around the world, so that the genetic potential can be expressed upon delivery.
Sustainable Breeding
At Hubbard, we focus on the 3 main pillars of sustainability throughout the whole production chain: Environment, Economy and Social. We strive for continuous improvements in animal welfare and productivity, both for parent stock and broilers.
Through annual improvements in productivity, survival rates, and feed conversion, we achieve a continuous reduction of the environmental footprint. All this is achieved using state-of-the-art selection techniques.
Animal welfare is at the heart of all our genetic selection and also of the handling of our chickens throughout the production chain.
By integrating the latest technologies on our R&D farms, we continuously improve the health, activity and welfare of our pure line chickens and their progeny.
Hubbard is also committed to the highest welfare and proper handling of all the chickens we care for, produce and sell to the broiler industry. We focus on husbandry practices that secure well-being and health. At Hubbard, all team members, as well as our contract farmers, have a binding responsibility to respect and treat the chickens we work with daily in a respectful and humane manner.
“CODE EFABAR“ is a “code for Good Practice of Farm Animal Breeding and Reproduction” and addresses the issues of food safety and public health, product quality, genetic diversity, efficiency, environmental impact, animal health, animal welfare, and breeding and reproduction technologies.
