West Africa – Hubbard was delighted to co-organise the first edition of the “Hubbard & Lohmann Poultry School”, held on August 27–28 in Assinie, Côte d’Ivoire.
Across the region, many Hubbard broiler breeder customers use Lohmann layer breeds as well. This naturally created a new opportunity for synergy between the two companies, for the benefit of poultry producers, who responded enthusiastically to the invitation.
Nearly 40 participants from 10 West African countries gathered together for two days of training, experience sharing and technical discussions.
The first day focused on Hubbard Efficiency Plus broiler breeder management, with discussions covering key topics such as flock uniformity management during rearing, male management, and the main factors contributing to optimal reproductive performance.
We were also delighted to welcome Dr Amicie De Quatrebarbes from Ceva, who shared her expertise on the management of respiratory diseases in poultry flocks, a key topic for maintaining flock health and optimizing performance.
The second day was dedicated to layer breeder management, with a focus on flock management during both the rearing and production phases. Davide Assirelli, Hatchery Manager at Lohmann, also shared his expertise on hatchery management.
The day continued with a practical egg breakout session, giving participants the opportunity to assess flock fertility firsthand and put into practice the knowledge gained during the training.
Beyond the presentations and practical sessions, this first edition was above all a great opportunity to bring together poultry professionals from across the region, share experiences and strengthen technical knowledge throughout West Africa.
