Hubbard and Grupo Neria share practical insights on genetic improvements and breeder nutrition ahead of AMVEAV 2025

Veracruz, Mexico – Ahead of the 23rd annual meeting of the Veracruz Association of Avian Veterinarians (AMVEAV), Hubbard®, in collaboration with its local distributor Grupo Neria, hosted a pre-congress event focused on the latest advances in genetics and breeder nutrition. Held in Veracruz — home to Grupo Neria — the session brought together customers and poultry professionals for a productive exchange of knowledge.

Vinícius Schramm, Hubbard Technical Services Manager for Brazil and the Southern Cone, led the discussion, presenting “Updates on Nutrition in Modern Breeding Stock.” Schramm explored how evolving genetic progress in poultry has created new nutritional demands, particularly for larger breeder birds.

He introduced recent studies that support new feeding strategies — some of which challenge long-held practices — with proven benefits for fertility, hatchability, eggshell quality and overall breeder performance.

“The benefits go beyond the breeder house,” Schramm explained. “When nutrition is well managed early on, it positively impacts the final product and the entire production chain.”

Grupo Neria Production Director, Dr. Alejandro Martinez also presented highlighting the optimum results that the Efficiency Plus parent stock was achieving in Veracruz, today Mexico’s largest broiler producing state.

Growing presence in Mexico

Mexico remains a strategic market for Hubbard, and rising demand for the Hubbard Efficiency Plus. The pre-congress event served not only to share practical knowledge, but also to deepen connections with local producers.

“Events like this are a great way to stay close to our customers and exchange insights that support their success,” said Juan Diaz, Hubbard’s Country Manager in Mexico. “We’re grateful to Grupo Neria for their investment in the modern grandparent facilities enabling the Hubbard Efficiency Plus distribution to Mexico and to all who joined us in Veracruz.”
